IN THE NEWS: CHRISTMAS TREES

Thanks to the press and community support, a local source for Christmas trees stepped forward. Now, Northwoods Hardware will be able to offer locally grown Frasier Fir trees!

Look for trees to arrive to the store Thanksgiving week. Thanks for sharing!!

Previous news:

Northwoods Hardware store was not going to be able to sell Christmas Trees this year

Why?

Our previous tree supplier indicated that they are no longer able to supply us trees because the tree suppliers themselves are short of trees – especially the Fraser Fir (demand is higher and supply is short).

This is hugely in part due to smaller tree farms sending their supply to the larger tree farms; because the larger tree farms are selling their products to the ‘big box stores’ – it is less costly and more efficient to sell by the truck load vs. hand loading for the smaller retailers like us. Read more about this in a recent article posted by the Glen Arbor Sun.

Due to the press around this story published earlier in November, and great community response, we were contacted by three different resources that led us to a local farm in Cedar. We’re pleased to announce we will have Frasier Fir trees, grown at Sparrow Valley Farm available for sale this year beginning the weekend after Thanksgiving!

Holiday wreaths & Potted greens are NOW AVAILABLE for sale as of Nov 18th.

Greenery is scheduled to arrive the week of November 25th!
